Savannah Chrisley is expecting her first child, and the man she’s marrying has a backstory nobody saw coming. According to Page Six, her fiancé Jason Galanis, 56, served time at the same Florida federal prison camp as her father, Todd Chrisley.

The baby news and the mystery man
On October 27, 2026, Savannah, 29, announced she is pregnant and engaged, E! News reported. She shared the news in an Instagram video and on an episode of her podcast, “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley.” There was just one catch: she identified her fiancé only as “J” or “Jason.”
The mystery didn’t last long. TMZ was first to name him as Jason Galanis, citing sources with direct knowledge. Us Weekly and People both confirmed the identification soon after.
Fans had been wondering about this guy for a while. People reported that Savannah first revealed she was in a relationship back in May 2026 on her podcast, but she kept his identity under wraps and called him her “mystery man.”
Now he’s officially out in the open. Page Six reported that Savannah posted an Instagram Stories selfie with Galanis on a yacht, a full-on hard launch amid the backlash. Her caption? “My forever adventure partner.”
So who is Jason Galanis?
Short answer: a man with a very long legal file.
According to People and the U.S. Department of Justice, Galanis was sentenced in September 2020 to 189 months, or more than 15 years, in federal prison for his role in two multimillion-dollar securities fraud schemes. One defrauded a Native American tribal entity, the Wakpamni Lake Community Corporation, along with investors. The other was a stock manipulation scheme involving Gerova Financial Group.
The money involved was staggering. Page Six reported that Galanis was ordered to forfeit more than $80 million and pay more than $80 million in restitution.
Prosecutors did not mince words at the time. “Jason Galanis orchestrated two multimillion-dollar fraud schemes, and hid behind a team of co-conspirators to conceal his involvement and defy an SEC ban,” then-Acting U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss said, according to People, citing the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
His name also pops up in political headlines. TMZ described him as a former business partner of Hunter Biden. E! News reported that Galanis testified from prison during the Republican impeachment inquiry into former President Joe Biden in March 2024.
Then, in March 2025, President Trump commuted his sentence, TMZ reported.
The prison camp connection
Here’s where the story gets truly wild. Page Six confirmed that Galanis and Todd Chrisley both served time at Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, and that their stays overlapped from January to August 2023.
Todd and Julie Chrisley, the stars of “Chrisley Knows Best,” were convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion in June 2022, Page Six reported. Todd was sentenced to 12 years and Julie to seven. Savannah became one of their loudest advocates, and President Trump pardoned the couple in May 2025, roughly two months after Galanis’s commutation.
According to TMZ, Savannah said on her podcast that she and Galanis actually met through political circles while she was fighting for her parents’ pardons. She said he first reached out in June 2025 to congratulate her on her advocacy work.
Things moved quickly from there. People reported that Savannah said on her podcast the two have been together since July 2025 and engaged since December 2025. That means she kept an engagement quiet for nearly a year. Impressive discipline for someone who hosts a podcast called “Unlocked.”
There’s also a 27-year age gap, which has added fuel to the online chatter. Savannah seems unbothered. “I have always said I would rather 20 phenomenal years with someone than 50 ‘meh’ years with someone,” she said, according to Us Weekly.
Her romantic history has played out publicly before. People previously reported her relationship with Robert Shiver in September 2023, and later their split. She was also once engaged to Nic Kerdiles, who died in a motorcycle crash in 2023.
Savannah’s message to her baby
Rather than respond to critics point by point, Savannah wrote to her unborn child. Us Weekly reported that she shared a public letter on Instagram Stories on October 27, alongside ultrasound footage, defending the baby from the noise.
“You are not a headline. You are not a controversy. You are not defined by anyone’s past, anyone’s mistakes, or anyone else’s opinions,” she wrote, per Us Weekly.
She ended on a fiercely protective note. “You are my answered prayer. And I will never apologize for celebrating you,” she wrote.
In her announcement post, she also opened up about how long she had hoped for this moment. “I’ve prayed for this life. I’ve cried for this life. And there were moments I truly wondered if this life would ever be mine,” she wrote on Instagram, according to Us Weekly.
Whatever people think of her choice of partner, it’s clear Savannah isn’t backing down. She has a ring, a yacht selfie, a baby on the way, and absolutely zero plans to apologize. Grandpa Todd, presumably, already knows his future son-in-law pretty well.
