The survivors are finally going home. Paramount+ released the official teaser trailer for Yellowjackets Season 4, the fourth and final season, on October 14, 2026, and Deadline reports it shows the girls returning home after nearly two years in the wilderness. The whole thing plays out to Alanis Morissette’s “Ironic,” according to The Hollywood Reporter, which is either a very sweet choice or a very pointed one, depending on how much you trust this show to let anyone enjoy a happy ending.
The homecoming, finally
If you have spent five years watching this soccer team starve, scheme, and occasionally eat one another in the Canadian wilderness, the teaser delivers the moment you have been waiting for: rescue. The Hollywood Reporter says Season 4 will introduce a third timeline to the series, covering the rescue and its immediate aftermath, when the Yellowjackets are finally found after 19 months in the wild.
That is a big structural swing for a show that has leaned on two timelines, the teen years and the adult years, to tell its story. Now there is a bridge between them, and the teaser suggests it is not a comfortable one.
The dialogue in the trailer, via Deadline, lays it out plainly: “The plane crashed. Our friends died. And the rest of us starved. And scavenged. And we prayed, until they finally found us.”
Short, bleak, and delivered over a ’90s radio staple. Very on brand.
The official Paramount+ logline, reported by Collider, promises things get messy fast: “As the survivors race to bury their sins before rescue arrives and an old flame roars back into town with plans of her own, turns out not every homecoming is a joyous one, and this one’s going to sting.”
An old flame with plans of her own? Burying sins before rescue arrives? That is a lot of plot to pack into one sentence, and fans will surely spend the next month arguing over who the old flame is and which sins need burying first.
A very 1990s rollout
The marketing team clearly had fun with this one, selling the idea that the rescue is now an in-universe media event. The teen Yellowjackets are about to go from lost girls to the biggest story in America, which raises all sorts of questions about what the adult versions have been hiding ever since.
This is actually the second teaser for the season. Deadline notes an earlier one arrived on August 20, 2026, announcing the premiere date. The October 14 trailer is the fuller look at what is coming.
When and where to watch
Mark the calendar: Yellowjackets Season 4 premieres exclusively on Paramount+ with the Premium Plan on Friday, November 20, 2026, according to Deadline. Collider reports the final season will run 10 episodes.
Creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson are staying on as showrunners through the finish line, with Lionsgate Television producing for Showtime, per Collider. The pair announced back in October 2025 that Season 4 would be the last, after Showtime renewed the show in May 2025.
The cast list is enormous. Variety reports the returning lineup includes Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, Nia Sondaya, Jenna Burgess, and Hilary Swank. Sondaya and Burgess were both promoted to series regulars earlier in 2026.
Then there are the guest stars, which read like a dream dinner party. Variety lists June Squibb, Elijah Wood, Molly Ringwald, Devon Sawa, Sam Braun, and Dulé Hill. Ringwald and Squibb were announced as new cast members back in February 2026, and the idea of Molly Ringwald wandering into this particular show, with its heavy ’90s soundtrack and teenage trauma, feels almost too perfect.
Why ‘Ironic’ is the right call
Yellowjackets has always used its music like a weapon. The show premiered on Showtime on November 14, 2021, and from the start it treated the mid-’90s as both a setting and a mood. Season 2 aired in 2023 and Season 3 in 2025, and the soundtrack never stopped doing heavy lifting.
So scoring the homecoming to “Ironic” is a choice. Morissette’s song is about life handing you the wrong thing at the wrong time, and the logline is practically daring viewers to expect a reunion that curdles. The girls get rescued. They get to go home. And, if the trailer is to be believed, that is exactly where the trouble starts.
Three timelines, 10 episodes, one final season. November 20 cannot come soon enough.
